The Sunshine Coast has many beautiful and varied locations for engagement shoots. Whether you want urban, up in the Maleny hills, beach side or in the forests – there are endless possibilities on spots.
Here are the best Engagement Shoot location ideas on the Sunshine Coast…
1) Mount Peregian
With it’s easily accessible location just a few minutes drive off the Sunshine Motorway, Mount Peregian is the perfect engagement shoot location if you want a gorgeous sunset view but equally stunning views of the beach. This mountain is easy to access by simply parking in the car park at Mount Coolum High School and it is a short stroll up to the start of the mountain. From here, you can have beautiful photos around the rocks, up the pathway then to the both East and West lookout locations.
The best time of day for this location the hour before sunset. I suggest bringing mozzie repellent and a blanket to sit on when you come up to this location for a engagement shoot so you are comfortable!
2. Sunshine Coast Beaches
The beaches on the Sunshine Coast provide so many beautiful locations for engagement shoots. I go to various locations depending on the time of year, tide times and generally to avoid the general public as best as possible. Some great engagement shoot locations along the coastal beaches include the Kawana Stretch (I love the dunes in particular at Entrance 132), Marcus Beach, Point Cartwright and up at Noosa National Park.
Vary the look to your shoots by using the stairs or dune paths to the beach to start off with. If it is a bit too sunny, these paths normally have great shade cover.
My top tip for planning an engagement shoot along the beaches include looking at tide times (hitting the low tide at Point Cartwright means you can venture safely on the rocks!), don’t wear anything too dressed up and plan to be a little windswept or possibly go for a dip and get wet.
3. Maleny
Maleny has a plethora of locations not only for weddings but engagement shoots. The great thing about Maleny especially for Engagement Shoots, is you can take the time and visit more than you usually would be able to on your wedding day. With the rolling green hills, stunning views off to the Glass house Mountains and also the secluded creeks, waterfalls and country dirt roads – you have endless choice to what type of looks you want for your Sunshine Coast Engagement Shoot!
Some of my favorite locations are Gardeners Falls, One Tree Hill, Mary Cairncross Park, down Sinclairs Lane and also Tuckers Lane.
4. Waterfalls
The Sunshine Coast has some amazing waterfall locations for engagement shoots. I usually start at these spots then move onto somewhere more open. My favourite spots for waterfalls photoshoots on the coast include Buderim Falls, Kondalilla Falls, Gardners Falls and Booloumba Falls at Condalilla National Park.
5. Glass House Mountains
Finally the Glass House Mountains area has some spectacular engagement shoot locations. Surrounding yourself with the beauty of the Glass House Mountains in the background means you can get some beautiful intimate shots but also some gorgeous landscape views!
You are spoilt for choice: the pine forests provide interesting visual textures, including the classic pineapple fields to show off the Sunshine Coast, heading up to the top of Mt Ngun Ngun for a spectacular sunset view or wandering around in the grassy fields with Mt Beerwah towering over you in the background.
My tip for these locations is certainly plan your Sunshine Coast engagement shoot around Sunset. This way you can take advantage of the beautiful soft light and golden buttery sunset vibes!
