I never thought I’d say that the Sunshine Coast, Queensland is second best in my heart when it comes to beautiful beachside lifestyle, relaxed atmosphere and amazing food. But I have to say, traveling to Santorini Greece for Tash + Jaimie’s wedding has certainly made it to number one spot!
I first met Tash + Jaimie over skype and we chatted about the idea of a Santorini wedding, what was important to them and the logistics of shooting a destination wedding from my pint of view. Immediately I could tell these two were so happy, relaxed and trusting of me. I only ended up meeting them in person the day prior to the wedding over a strong greek coffee overlooking the Caldera in Fira. We were excited to see the following day finally come to fruition and celebrate this wonderful marriage.
The wedding day was in typical Greek summer style HOT HOT HOT. Unlike the Sunshine Coast for weddings in summer, it was a fairly dry heat but it didn’t stop us from all sweating! Tash + Jaimie got ready in the morning in a town called Magalochori about 15minutes from Dana Villas (the ceremony location). This is a beautiful little traditional town and provided a beautiful backdrop. We then drove to Dana Villas, one of Santorini’s most picturesque places to get married. The staff and wedding planning was top notch.
Keeping around the area, we choose to walk through the ever winding white streets of Santorini and find intimate and beautiful spots for wedding portraits. It isn’t hard to find some amazing spots to get wedding portraits here! The reception finished off a wonderful day with acoustic guitar and singing by Michalis Karamolegos, watching the infamous sunset over the ocean and dancing the night away.
