Approaching Lake George signals ‘we’re almost home’, almost home was the perfect location for this Canberra couple who have been living abroad for the past two years.

Angela and Alistair met in high school, Angela thought he was the nicest/funniest, but it can take a girl up to a decade to know he’s the one. Their relationship started out as long-distance (CBR – NZ), then (CB – BNE), with a move to London together confirming they were the perfect match.

Alastair proposed on a trip to Iceland surrounded by a beautiful frozen lake, now many month’s later standing in the basin of a waterless lake, they said I do under an expansive, light filled oak tree.

After the perfectly crafted vowels, we headed out to explore the expansive land that is Lake George. With heels in hand we took a stroll along the highway and found a space where the sky met the mountains and the mountain met the land. The contrast between Alastair’s crisp suit and Angela’s feminine dress to the earthy toned land draws you to the couple.

Lake George can be whatever you want it to be, at times I had to catch myself and remember ‘Toto, I’m not in Tuscany’.

The shoot really embraced the natural landscape and the wonder and fascination we have with Lake George. We ran through vineyards, found nooks covered by natural flora and found the most beautiful orange flowers that pop in the background of the portrait shots.

A & A said this wedding was about coming home and basking in their love alongside family and friends who they haven’t seen for two years. At the ceremony the extra long hugs showed just how much they have been missed.

Mr and Mrs Cossart, your wedding was cool, calm and collected. This is the forth time I have shot a wedding at Lake George Winery and I hope it won’t be the last.
